I think Squishy was a very cute cat!

For Squishy,
I heard a cat meow and I thought it was you.
It wasn’t.

I miss your warm furriness.
My heart hurts and my eyes are leaking.

Squishy,
Thank you for being our cat.
We love you
Until the end, and beyond…

We remember you every time you aren’t here.

You always came when we called you -
Eventually.

You were good-     natured, to a point…

Sorry Squishy, you haven’t left my thoughts, nor could you ever; I just can’t cry anymore right now.
I have to push the thoughts away.

I know you won’t be jumping up on the bed-
(though I really wish you would)…

We can remove all traces of your existence but believe me, it doesn’t stop the memories.
