NaPoWriMo, Day eight is late, but such is fate! I did a week - a full week! - and then..... Playing catch-up:( No pressure; it's all good:) I do have a bunch of partially written poems, though. This poem is a variation on the Oulipost prompt from day 9, which I did for my Day 8 poem, thereby making it a day early:) Ha! Instead of newspaper, I used the flyers... Blowout! Evil eats Everything & erodes, entering efficiently even when I Fight for freedom from forces forever favouring the favoured, flavoured with fortunate fate. The fight gets going & I'm greeted by grey ghosts gathering graciously in hopeful homes inhabited happily & hungrily by hideous heroes who hear holiness in idiots & ingrates, incessantly judging, joining in Kindred kahoots. We long for love lost, Mourn for mornings of memories; of misty maybes through a mostly murky mayhaim of mindless, Non-existent nonsense - Nevermind. Nobody knows. Others Only over-obsess obnoxiously, otherwise Poor pretty perfect people possibly Questioning -quos; Quasimodo Rock stars sailing & soaring atop, too tall towers. Terrible tragedies & truths torment us. Understanding unites Vastly varied Wisdom-seekers wandering willfully Extracting & exuding extra-hope, yakking & yapping, yelling & yawning, the yea-Sayers of yesterday have Zilch. #TinkerSketch prompt was clouds. It was challenging to write my poem, today. I just played around with alliteration & the alphabet -- ooh, an Abecedarian Alliteration Attempt! -- hey, it counts for a full week:) NaPoWriMo, Day 6 (Apr. 6, 2014)Little minions all the same do this do that play the game All my bidding shall be done Go here go there run run run One eye big and two eyes small Either will do when you're not very tall Hey there minion, what's with your pants? They're different than the rest of the ants'! Little blue polkadots... wait! what? polkadots? You can't be you when I'm calling the shots! You shall color your pants solid like every other Sam and Sid Hear the Funky Rap Version cuz there's an App for that! http://www.smule.com/p/181670034_37425559 The Story Behind the Poem: #TinkerSketch Prompt was Polka Dots and I saw this lovely image on FaceBook, and made a protocol with toilet paper tubes, which is as fine as any method for using up the rolls! And then, whilst eating a Kinder Egg, inspiration struck, thus the result being better than the actual toy:) NaPoWriMo, Day 5:
Today, I thought I'd give an actual Poetry prompt a go and it went... NaPoWriMo Prompt: Today I challenge you to write a “golden shovel.” This form was invented by Terrance Hayes in his poem, The Golden Shovel. The last word of each line of Hayes’ poem is a word from Gwendolyn Brooks’ poem We Real Cool. You can read Brooks’ poem by reading the last word of each line of Hayes’ poem! (In fact, you can do so twice, because Hayes, being ultra-ambitious, wrote a two-part golden shovel, repeating Brooks’ poem). Now, the golden shovel is a tricky form, but you can help keep it manageable by picking a short poem to shovel-ize. #TinkerSketch Challenge --> collage Extra Bonus Poem (Yesterday's Prompt, a Lune, which is a form of the Haiku - 3 words, 5 words, 3 words): Eensy peensey pieces cut out from a magazine, What'll it be? NaPoWriMo2014, ,Day 4:NaPoWriMo, Day 3:#TinkerSketch Prompt --> Draw to Music SO I played a little Dittie on My Beautiful Piano (simply because I couldn't decide what music I wanted to draw to).... https://soundcloud.com/nikki-schneider/la-doodle-song Creativity Charm
Make some music make some noise Forget about neighbours forget about poise Blow a whistle bang a drum Guitar or ukulele go ahead, strum Get up and dance move your dancing feet It's all good says Blue Cat Pete! Move like a kid give it a whirl Skip, hop or even twirl Get some paper any will do Even an old receipt that you already threw The sky's the limit get out your pens, Crayons can give your soul a cleanse NaPoWriMo, Day 2:I think I will base my poems on my doodles & sketches from @Tinkerlab's Instagram Doodle-a-Day Challenge. I also incorporated @Idearoom's Instagram Photo-a-Day prompt. Things just sort of come together. Today, I read a story to some Kindergarten kids & there was an owl in it. I also did some yoga with 1/2's & we were trees. Then we danced. Oh, how we danced! (It's called DPA, Daily Physical Activity.)
I LOVE THE ARTS:)NaPoWriMo, Day 1:The story of my poem: Last night, I watched, 'Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey.' (* a Super Cool show - see bottom for more about this.) Today happens to be April 1st, the beginning of National Poetry Month and the NaPoWriMo - 30 poems in 30 days Challenge. I came across 'alliteration' at school (I am a supply teacher). My Instagram Doodle-A-Day Sketchbook challenge by @TinkerLab is Circles. All of this came together to serve as my 'prompt' for Day 1. Dance of Life Billions of barely visible - and, even then, only with a Very Powerful Microscope (or a VPM) - Smaller than small dancing circles Make up life. They circle and dance And divide and live and die And change or die And LIVE LIVELY; they dance together and become greater than one tiny circle; More alive and afloat, armed with allies in this Awesome dance. Rough Drafts --> * About Cosmos: Like the legendary original series by Carl Sagan, Cosmos: A Personal Voyage, it is the saga of how we discovered the laws of nature and found our coordinates in space and time. Hosted by renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, the series will bring to life never-before-told stories of the heroic quest for knowledge and transport viewers across the universe for a vision of the cosmos on the grandest scale. It will invent new modes of scientific storytelling to reveal the grandeur of the universe and re-invent celebrated elements of the original series, such as theCosmic Calendar and The Ship of the Imagination. The most profound scientific concepts will be presented with stunning clarity, uniting skepticism and wonder and weaving science with the emotional and spiritual into a transcendent experience. http://www.globaltv.com/cosmos/ |
