"Intention is like a road map that will take you to the right place*". *Sara Aurora Waters' words:)
I am a person who will do better focusing on one month at a time, so rather than making an intention for the whole year, I'm going to make this my January Intention...
I enjoy creating as a way to relax. Pretty colours make me happy, as does the beautiful tones that come from my black and white piano keys. Just as the ebony and ivory tickles my ear drums, creating images and words pleases my soul. I feel happy when I see (or hear) my own creations and I'm proud of my own creativity. In fact, I know that my creativity helps me be an awesome teacher!
First, make a space in which to create... check! In fact, our whole house seems to be a Haven of Creativity, or a mess, depending on whom you ask. I prefer Haven of Creativity, and according to Einstein, a sign of genius. Above: Here are some art supplies (or, much to my Hubby's chagrin, any thing that could remotely be an art supply). They forcefully spew forth, out of boxes. Towers of paper; they teeter! The toy boxes were made by my uncle, Joseph Neskar, RIP, when I was a kid. I'm sure it's why I'm so creative! Below: My Hubby is in the creative mood. Each year, whilst on holiday, he creates a model. Sometimes, he ignores the instructions and does what he wants because he has creativity in him! | Above: Here is where I sit when I binge watch Netflix. I can not just do nothing so I have art supplies at the ready! My art journal is just waiting and I am reading about today's challenge on my iPad. Below: The wall of my work space... I made paintings using a golf ball in Tupperware containers with my little niece and nephew (pictured) last summer. Then, I used the pages to make new Art. This is also the wall that they see when we Skype visit. (They live far away in New Zealand.) My nephew has hung all of his creations on his bedroom wall so I thought I'd do the same:) On my white board, I sketched a representation of my cat, plus a photo of my dream studio, and a collage representing dreaming. Finally, there is a picture of myself as a kid - playing street hockey in the rain, decked out in my bathing suit and Care Bear 4-wheel roller skates. This is to remind myself of the free-spirit girl that still exists inside me:) |
